Availability and ReliabilityThe J1000 enclosure ensures high availability by utilizing fully redundant, hot swappable components for disk drives, power supplies, cooling modules and Fibre Channel hub assemblies. Dual hot swappable blowers provide pressurized cooling to support 10K and 15K rpm disk drives.
Modular ConfigurationsThe J1000 is a "building block" component of iQstor's line of storage solutions. Adding component "building blocks" enables storage administrators to quickly and cost effectively optimize storage solutions to changing application and network environments. Each J1000 holds up to fifteen 300GB disk drives. As storage requirements grow, these JBOD enclosures can be easily connected to RAID subsystems, scaling to very large SAN systems.
2 Gb Fibre Channel InterfaceThe J1000 supports the latest Fibre Channel 2 Gb/s interconnect (FL-AL2). In addition, it is also backward compatible with 1 Gb/s FC-AL devices. A dual loop configuration provides redundancy and performance of up to 200MB/sec on each Fibre Channel loop.
Comprehensive Storage ManagementA unique capability of the J1000 JBOD is support for both in-band as well as out-of-band management. SCSI Enclosure Services (SES) support on all disk slots provides in-band management when used with a SES compatible RAID controller or host bus adapter. In addition, out-of-band support allows the J1000 to be remotely monitored through an industry standard Ethernet connector (RJ45).
Storage Investment ProtectionThe J1000 is designed to be easily upgraded to an iQ1000 storage system. Storage administrators have the option of installing two SP100 storage processor modules to the J1000 JBOD storage enclosure. These features allow enhanced storage functionality including RAID, storage virtualization, snapshots, capacity management, mirroring, storage provisioning and remote replication services to be added as your storage requirements grow.
